Setups and prices

Two setups, and an hour a month if you want one

A setup is a fixed figure for the whole job: £290 or £690, depending on how many people take bookings and how many treatments go in. The monthly plan is neither of those and is never required.

Booking System Support

Optional

£85a month

Optional, and never required. An hour a month for the changes a salon actually makes: a new treatment, a new member of staff, a week off.

Changes to services and schedules

Unused time does not carry over
Ending it
By writing, before the next month starts

Runs month by month, invoiced each month

What it covers

  • Up to one hour a month of changes to your services and your schedules
  • Adding, renaming, repricing or retiring a service
  • Changing working hours, adding a holiday, covering a staff change
  • A written answer to a question about the diary, inside the hour
  • An invoice each month, with nothing taken automatically from a card

What it does not cover

  • The booking platform’s own subscription, which stays in the salon’s name
  • Time carried into the next month: an unused hour is not banked
  • Work past the hour, which is agreed and quoted before it is started
  • A second setup: moving to a different platform is a setup, not a change

Past Salon Booking Setup — more than five people taking bookings, or more than thirty treatments — there is no published figure, and one will not be invented to fill the gap. Write with the numbers and the reply is a written quotation for the salon in front of me.

Tax position: not established yet. Nothing on this site claims that VAT is included, that it does not apply, or that there is a registration number. Each figure above is the whole of what that piece of work costs, and nothing is added to it afterwards.

Before the first day

What you need to have ready

None of this is produced here. A setup puts your salon into a booking system; it does not decide what your salon sells or what it charges.

A booking platform account in your own name

Opened by you, paid for by you, and staying yours. I work inside it. If you have not chosen one yet, say so and the reply comes with a recommendation and the reasons for it.

The subscription is never inside any figure on this site, and it is never bought in my name.

Your service list, with times and prices

Every treatment you want bookable, how long it actually takes, and what it costs. Sent as text in one file rather than in a chain of messages.

Prices and lengths go in as supplied. Deciding them is not part of any setup.

Who works when

Each member of staff, their hours, their days off, and which treatments each of them does. A rota you already keep is usually enough.

Up to one practitioner with Solo Booking Setup and up to five with Salon Booking Setup.

The salon’s own contact details for the booking page

The name, the address and the email a client should see on a confirmation, plus the cancellation notice you want clients to agree to.

What appears there is yours, not mine. I set it; you decide what it says.

A way into your website, for the widget

Editor access or somebody with it, for the site the widget goes into. A quarter of an hour of their time is usually the whole of it.

The widget belongs to Salon Booking Setup. Solo Booking Setup finishes at the booking link.

A paper appointment book lying open on a pale counter, its columns ruled and its lines blank.
Most salons arrive with a paper book and a rota. That is enough to start from.

How an order runs

From the first message to the diary being yours

The days only start counting once the invoice is settled and I have been let into the booking account. Until both of those have happened there is nothing for me to work on.

  1. You writeYours

How many pairs of hands, how many treatments, and how bookings reach you now.

The enquiry form asks those three things and little else, because they are what decides which setup fits. It writes the enquiry out for you to read before anything leaves your screen.

  2. I reply in writingMine

Which setup your answers fall into, what it covers and what it costs.

The figure comes from the published list and nowhere else. If your counts sit past the larger setup, there is no published figure for that and the reply says so rather than inventing one.

  3. You confirmYours

The order is made when you accept that confirmation in writing.

The confirmation repeats the whole of the scope and the whole of the figure before anything is asked for. Nothing is charged for anything you have not agreed to in writing first.

  4. Payment, then accessYours

The invoice is settled, and I am let into the booking account.

The account is opened in the salon’s name and the subscription is bought in the salon’s name. I am given access to it, which is a different thing from owning it, and that access ends at handover unless you are on the support plan.

  5. The buildMine

Services, staff, hours, rules, messages, and the route clients book through.

Done inside your own account, so what you see at the end is what your clients will see. You get one look at it before it is opened to the public, and the corrections from that look are part of the setup.

  6. HandoverMine

The session, the written note, and the diary left in your hands.

After the session the booking route goes live whenever you say, not before. From that point the diary is yours to run: the support plan is there if you would rather it were not entirely yours to run alone.

The turnaround for each setup, what a working day means here and what happens if a date slips are all on the Delivery & Service Terms page. Cancelling is on the Refund & Cancellation page.

Said plainly

What is never part of a setup

Every line here has been paid for by somebody, somewhere, in the belief that it was included. It is cheaper to read it than to find out.

  • The booking platform’s own subscription. It is bought by the salon, in the salon’s name, and it is not inside any figure here.
  • Your clients’ payments. Those run through your own accounts with the platform or its payment provider, and none of them passes through this website or through me.
  • Running the diary for you day to day: answering clients, taking bookings by hand, chasing people who have not turned up.
  • Any charge the platform makes for sending messages.
  • Building, redesigning or hosting your website. The widget goes into a site you already have.
  • Writing your prices, your treatment names or your cancellation policy.
  • Photography, logos and anything else that makes the booking page look like your salon rather than like a form.

Not sure which of the two it is?

Put in how many people take bookings and roughly how many treatments, and the form works it out against the published limits while you type.
